Dr. Byron Greenberg has been involved with VAPSA since its very inception.
Dr. Greenberg is a licensed clinical psychologist with a specialty practice in police and emergency services psychology.
He has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and a Masters of Public Health (MPH), from Loma Linda University and a M.S.Ed. in Counseling from The Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Greenberg has published in peer reviewed journals and presented at national and international conferences in the areas of Stress, Health, and Performance among first responders.
He is board certified as a Diplomate in Police Psychology from the Society for Police and Criminal Psychologists.
He is a tenured associate professor at Virginia State University in the department of psychology.
Dr. Greenberg is a sought after lecturer in the area of Stress, Emotional Wellness, Psychological aspects of use of force, Fear and anger management, Peer Support, and psychological testing.
He has debriefed over 4500 emergency service professionals since he began primarily working with this population in 1995.
He is the owner and director of Greenberg and Associates, a psychological practice serving over 65 emergency services agencies in the Commonwealth.
He is one of the founding members of the Virginia Peer Support Association.
